Winner of Burlesque top 50

I meant to post this earlier, the winner of the world burlesque top 50 was once again the amazing Dirty Martini.

That lady is amazing, curvy, sexy and confident. I would love to meet her one day along with many other burlesque starlettes.

I have posted a few videos below for you all to watch and see how amazing she truly is.

Fanteasia December 18th 2011

I almost forgot this one, I offered at the last minute to do a Christmas themed act for Fanteasia Burlesque in Birmingham, due to several performers being unable to make it. So I quickly came up with an act to showcase it it worked so I think I will keep it and polish it up a bit more. The name of the act in question is Christmas Conundrum. It went really well considering I hadn't had time to prepare it properly. (hence the presence of my dread installs, they are not part of the act haha)

The other acts were amazing and on the whole it was a great night. I will be performing Fanteasia again in the near future

Jan 6th 2012 - Showcase

More fun on the Burlesque front, everything is really going well and I have several new acts in the process of being polished and I'm almost finished the costumes ^^ can't wait to show them.

I recently took part in The garter showcase in Leicester early on this year, the ladies were amazing and it was such a lovely venue. I ran into my Bellydance teacher again which was really nice, so I shall hopefully be in touch with her a bit more now. Anyway before I go off on a tangent... Back to the Burlesque.

I thoroughly enjoyed the gig, in this one I revamped my Draconian act to include some real Nihon Buyou (Japanese fan dancing) and it went really smoothly so I was really happy with that ^^. However the second act I did which was Unicornis had some technical difficultly with the music... ie.. it cut out mid song haha, it was no ones fault and mistakes happen. It didn't throw me in the slightest, people were more impressed at my shoes to be fair. The rest of the acts by the other very talented ladies that nice were amazing and I made a lot of ner friends. I look forward to performing there again in the near future. As follows is some of the photos from said night. As always these are copyright to myself and the photographer so please link back if used and no stealing ^^ thank you

Angels and Anarchy charity show - 19th November 2011

Wow what a great show, the atmosphere was great, the bands and other acts were amazing.. if you didn't go you really missed out. Albeit a problem with the sound but easily overcome.

also an update, I'm going to hopefully be doing more performances now so I am constructing a new website solely for Burlesque work and some new buisness cards so stay tuned for that update.

I did two acts on the day in question, Lavender and honey and I also debuted a new act called Unicornis, I have photos of both acts and I will only put one or two up here whilst I am making a nice live show reel for the website.

On top of that, myself and a lot of the others are performing two acts and I haven't even finished off the costumes, props and music for both... I need to get a move on I think. Plus its a competition... with the winner going through to the heat. I do love performing for BCB, such lovely people and I can't wait!

I'm not going to give away my acts but I will have a photographer there taking gorgeous photos again and hopefully someone with a video camera.. I just hope it all gets ready in time! Here is the flyer.

Rant1

I am rather annoyed in writing this, after spending a lot of time trying to find high quality feathers to make some ostrich fans I find myself rather appauled! After reading through reviews and forums I have to tell you I am disgusted at the nerve of some 'sellers' a lot of bulk sellers were fake, and have scammed people or are wrongly selling spandones or Spads, which are lovely feathers but no where near full and fluffy enough to offer the lovely soft cover of sally rand style fans, they are stiffer and more skeletal at the tip and do not droop into that lovely plume at the end. Also note that wing plumes are wider, a lot wider.

I have been one of the unsuspecting victims of this, I brought 25 what was supposed to be A or 1st grade ostrich feathers/plumes (wing) only to find out that they were high quality spads being sold as plumes. So becareful if you are buying these... here are images to show the difference

anyway I have found a very good supplier for gorgeous wing plumes and am very happy now so images to come of the fans very soon
