Just round the corner

Small update, for all you lovely people, I would like to announce that there are new things on the horizon ... which in this case means new acts and a new night.

Now as to the acts I'm not giving away any secrets but hopefully they will be fab, so keep your eyes peeled.

Right... to business... I may be starting another night up, just waiting on confirmation from the venue. I can't wait, if it goes well this may well be a regular thing.

More information on that coming soon.

The first night

Things are really picking up on the burlesque front. Lucky me.
Sunday 16th September I had the privilage of organising the burlesque side of an entire evening. This was part of a rockabilly alldayer and wow it was such a great event.

I don't think I did too badly in accordance with everyone else and all the performers had a good time. which is what counts (as much as entertaining the masses)

The compere for the evening was the wonderful ; Leon Noir

and the performers were;
Velvet Von Black (who sadly couldn't make it)
Raven Noir
Tahlullah Manhattan
Cleo Vége (whom was debuting her first solo act)
and Myself

The acts were all top notch and the photos were lovely.

Not to mention the bands. However I do love a bit of Rockabilly though I'm more inclined to gothabilly or psychobilly when it comes to this culture <3


In light of this we will be bringing back some burlesque to another similar event. Also... I am running my own night In January. I have all the performers, singer's etc booked up ready. A post on this is on it's way. Anyone is welcome to come along and have a good night with some sexy boylesque and Burlesque performers.

I haven't updated for a while but I have recently took part in a few events. Nottingham pride was amazing fun to do, The burlesque Ball in the giffard arms was fun and so was Ruby Maihem's burlesque night. If you didn't attend then you really missed out.

Dates upcoming

If you keep an eye on my web page you will already be aware of the dates I have booked however if you do not then all will be told here. I currently have a few bookings for shows with more being confirmed 28th July 2012 - Nottingham pride 4th August 2012 - giffard arms Wolverhampton 10th August 2012 - venue 71 Birmingham 26th October 2012 - venue 71 Birmingham As well as these dates I will be debuting a new act on the 28th July and another on the 4th of August. Embraced Showcase - 26th May 2012

Another event I was called upon to perform at the last minute. In fairness I don't mind at all, its work and I enjoy it very much.

Embraced showcase is one of my favourite events to perform at, the three acts instead of two is a bit of  killer and there is really little interval to get changed between the first two acts however once again it went well. The music was amazing and the compere really worked the crowd. Sadly a lot of burlesque virgins in the audience so at first they had to be goaded into taking part but it was all good and apparently everyone enjoyed it which is always a good night.

The acts were superb as per-usual.

My own chosen three this time in order were;
Meridiana
Lavender and Honey
Unicornis

Unicornis seams to be a well rounded favourite with audience and performers alike and well at the moment is still my favourite act. Its very elegant and apparently 'really sticks in your mind for ages afterwards)

I shall be performing both of these dates with some fabulous talents. You will be shamed to miss out on them.

Also after much deliberation I am crafting several new acts over the next year or so.

Secret Sundae -May 6th 2012

The last Secret Sundae to grace Wolverhampton's Presence... yep sadly its gone. Which is a shame because its such a fun and friendly night.

This night boasted the talents of Betty Wishes, Lola Lashes, Delilah Cherryblossom and a debut from some lovely ladies from Leicester.

The performances I chose for this Night were Lavender and Honey as well as Draconian. Originally I was supposed to debut my newest act 'Opaline Butterfly' However some of the costume didn't arrive in time. Though Draconian went down very well in the end so I'm not complaining too much despite me being very ill that night.

Embraced Showcase - 27th April 2012

If you're in the Burlesque scene in the Midlands most likely you would of heard of Embraced showcase. It was one of the best nights I have had the privilege to perform at and the crowd are very receptive. This night in particular was named the weird and the wonderful  as it was a themed night.

This provided me with a residency so I hope to be performing here again soon.
I was also booked for a private party the following day from this so I am not complaining at all it was great fun.

Though a long night everyone enjoyed it, with starlets; Velvet Von Black, Foxy La'roque and pixie amore gracing the stage as well as myself.

This night we all had to perform three acts each and I was booked to perform,
Lavender and Honey, Unicornis and Draconian.

Secret Fridae - 13th April 2012

Considering it was a Fiday and it was the 13th I didn't think it was an unlucky day at all.

We didn't have an amazing turn out but everyone who was there was lovely and suprisingly louder than most places I have been with more people. Atmospherically it was nice and calm with pleasant tranquility. the bonus was that I knew pretty much everyone else who was performing which was great. A lot of talented act although we all got in a bit introuble with the venue because they didn't realise that burlesque involves 'stripping'.... really? They didn't know? Thats a bit silly signing up to play host venue to a night in which you dont even know what occurs. Ah well it was great fun anyway.

Shhh it's a secret

Friday the 13th of April, there is a burlesque night on called Secret Friday (originally secret Sundae) this looks to be a fun, friendly event. The best part is the line up is a secret as is the theme so you never know who will be on. This is in Birmingham at the walkabout. It's worth a look at.

Also on the 6th of May there is a secret Sundae event in Wolverhampton at the Numa bar. It's more of a showcase of performers this time but once again the line-up is a secret.

Everyone loves a surprise ;)

New Website!!

Finally got round to doing it, phew I still have a lot of working to do but hey, its all good. I have a new Burlesque website www.missabsynthium.co.uk. Check it out, it currently features a sample video of one of my live performances... sadly the music did mess up that night so I was very shaken but its all good.

3rd Feb 2012 - Showcase Leicester

Once again I offered to do a last minute step in for The amazingly talented and gorgeous Darkteaser, I absolutely love performing there, the other performers are always so friendly and talented. The crowd is good. I had a real good time and the whole atomsphere was once again unfaltered.
I think this is my favourite venue so far and I really thank Darkteaser for giving me an opportunity to perform here, I hope to do so again and again.

This time I decided to perform two of my older acts, Meridiana and Lavender and Honey.

Winner of Burlesque top 50

I meant to post this earlier, the winner of the world burlesque top 50 was once again the amazing Dirty Martini.

That lady is amazing, curvy, sexy and confident. I would love to meet her one day along with many other burlesque starlettes.

I have posted a few videos below for you all to watch and see how amazing she truly is.

Fanteasia December 18th 2011

I almost forgot this one, I offered at the last minute to do a Christmas themed act for Fanteasia Burlesque in Birmingham, due to several performers being unable to make it. So I quickly came up with an act to showcase it it worked so I think I will keep it and polish it up a bit more. The name of the act in question is Christmas Conundrum. It went really well considering I hadn't had time to prepare it properly. (hence the presence of my dread installs, they are not part of the act haha)

The other acts were amazing and on the whole it was a great night. I will be performing Fanteasia again in the near future

Jan 6th 2012 - Showcase

More fun on the Burlesque front, everything is really going well and I have several new acts in the process of being polished and I'm almost finished the costumes ^^ can't wait to show them.

I recently took part in The garter showcase in Leicester early on this year, the ladies were amazing and it was such a lovely venue. I ran into my Bellydance teacher again which was really nice, so I shall hopefully be in touch with her a bit more now. Anyway before I go off on a tangent... Back to the Burlesque.

I thoroughly enjoyed the gig, in this one I revamped my Draconian act to include some real Nihon Buyou (Japanese fan dancing) and it went really smoothly so I was really happy with that ^^. However the second act I did which was Unicornis had some technical difficultly with the music... ie.. it cut out mid song haha, it was no ones fault and mistakes happen. It didn't throw me in the slightest, people were more impressed at my shoes to be fair. The rest of the acts by the other very talented ladies that nice were amazing and I made a lot of ner friends. I look forward to performing there again in the near future. As follows is some of the photos from said night.
